New Fables

Where Flowers Tell Fables
Fable was a joyous collaboration in bringing to life a collective dream. Fable needed a fable of it’s own, a story to tell and an underlying myth that would drive the brand forward and be it’s guiding north star. The visual inspiration for this project was rich and sensory, drawing from folklore & fairytale, Old-World limewashed cafes with open windows, old books found in attics that smell of musk.

Dynamic Gallery
The gallery page is where future clients become fully immersed in the brand. It was important that the gallery was able to grow as the body of work grows, so I chose to add project modules underneath a collage section to be able to showcase specific projects & their details while still having a strong, storybook introduction for clients to get acquainted with the world of Fable before diving into specifics.

Scaleable Visual Language
Dreamlike photography mixed with scanned elements such as pressed flowers and wax seals unifies all internal pages.
E-commerce was front-and-center on the homepage as a strong call-to-action, and the copywriting for the products matched the whimsical tone of the brand.

Wordmark
We used a bespoke, fairytale inspired font and I manipulated the typeface to be perfect for the brand’s wordmark. When standing alone, the logo uses a larger first letter, a homage to the drop caps in illustrated manuscripts.

Full Logo
Fable’s full logo needed to be able to stamp well onto coffee cups & bouquet wrapping, and the heavy block print is visually memorable and easily holds an aged character, even when quick and inky prints obscure the finer details at small sizes. There’s a deliberate character to the mark, even with a rich ink bleed.

Illustrations
Under my art direction, we worked with an illustrator who specializes in linocut printing to get a storybook feel for the brand’s logo and spot illustrations. I translated those to digital form to use throughout the site.
